Hmm. I never really expected anyone to take the time to flame this post. Amusing!

For the record, I am not a language expert. I was just sharing a counterpoint to the blog posts I’ve read that state that Norwegian is very simple for English-speakers to learn because of the similar vocabulary. It is certainly easy to read, but many English speakers I’ve talked to agree that the pronunciation is very difficult, and even when they have the grammar and vocabulary perfect, they still have trouble making themselves understood.

I also never suggested that it is the hardest language to learn; I have studied languages for much longer that I still find much harder. I don’t know what the easiest language to learn is. Of those that I have personally studied, I would say Spanish was the easiest, at least to learn the basics.

Yeah, this is a bullshit article. What is the easiest language then? Afrikaans and Frisian were way harder for me than Norwegian. Why don’t you try languages that ARE actually hard to learn and maybe you’ll see the difference. Русский это хороший язык.

This article is bullshit, honestly. Theres no such thing as two dialects that doesn’t understand each other, unless it’s a word for something that doesn’t exist or som heavy slang, but also happens in English too.
