I’ve been way too busy lately, and the queue of things I think I should post on my blog just keeps growing.  I will start chiseling away at the backlog by posting two long overdue birth announcements.

Meet Gabriel Friedman!

Born two weeks ago on Wednesday 6 May (at 8:25 pm), the adorable little son of Erin & Mike weighed 2.9 kg and measured 47.6 cm.  You can read all the details here.

Meet Caroline Evans!

The daughter of Katie & Tim was born on at 5:22 in the morning on April 23.  She weighed 4 kg and measured 52 cm.

I have to say that this is the first time I’ve ever truly felt the pain of being so far from home.  Normally checking in every few weeks or even just once a month is fine for keeping up with everyone, but the babies grow so quickly.  Plus, everyone sounds the same over the phone or through email, even when they’re 9 months pregnant!  When the baby finally appears, it’s actually a bit of a shock, since I wasn’t really there for the pregnancy.  And of course, my feminine side is a little disappointed that I’m 6 time zones too far away to coo over the new infants!
